About
Mary Elaine Patrinos, MD, FAAP, is a neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology and Perinatal Medicine at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Dr. Patrinos is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine and is certified in neonatal resuscitation. Her special interests are apnea in premature infants and follow-up of neonatal intensive care unit graduates.
Dr. Patrinos earned her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio, and her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Children’s Memorial Hospital, Chicago, and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois.
Dr. Patrinos was named to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 2011. Prior to that she was a staff neonatologist at Lovelace Women’s Hospital, Albuquerque, N.M., for five years and at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children, Honolulu for 11 years.
She has authored papers in medical journals and written 13 textbook chapters. Dr. Patrinos is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Phi Kappa Phi.
