About

Dr. David Blumenthal graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1983 and completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Since completing his training, he has been a faculty rheumatologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the VA Medical Center in St. Louis, Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth Medical Center, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

He is currently Interim Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Director of the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Cleveland VA Medical Center Fellowship in Rheumatology.

His clinical interests are the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis in systemic autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, autoimmune myositis, systemic lupus and vasculitis.
