About
Jun T. Park, MD, FAES, FACNS is a board-certified child neurologist and epilepsy specialist at University Hospitals. He is also a professor of pediatrics and neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Park has expertise in pre-surgical evaluation of children with drug-resistant epilepsy, electroencephalography (EEG), brain mapping, intra-operative corticography, seizure semiology, stereotactic & subdural EEG implantation strategy/interpretation, and video-EEG monitoring. He actively publishes in peer-reviewed journals and speaks nationally on topics of epilepsy surgery in children.
Nationally, Dr. Park has organized and moderated numerous educational symposiums in stereotactic EEG at the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS). He has actively participated as a member and co-chair in numerous committees in the American Epilepsy Society and ACNS. He also serves as a consultant in epilepsy for the U.S. Federal Drug & Food Administration (FDA) – Pediatric Advisory Committee. Regionally, he serves as a co-chair of the Professional Advisory Board at the Northeast Ohio Epilepsy Association.
Internationally, Dr. Park directs the International EEG/Epilepsy course at UH Cleveland Medical Center, which is offered twice a year for two months at a time. Additionally, he serves as an Epilepsy Section editor for the World Neurosurgery and World Neurosurgery-X Open Access journals.
After his undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, Dr. Park earned his medical doctorate at Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands-Antilles. He then completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa – an affiliate of the University of Iowa. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in pediatric neurology at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City (Utah at the University of Utah), followed by another fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
