About
Meisam Moghbelli, MD, MPH, is a heart failure cardiologist and registered physician in vascular interpretation at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He is also an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Moghbelli earned his medical degree with honors from the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran. His postdoctoral training included an internship at Al-Zahra Tertiary Care Hospital in Isfahan, an internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and a cardiology fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He then completed an advanced heart failure and transplant fellowship as chief fellow at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital as well as a masters in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Moghbelli is a proud United States military veteran, having served in the 81st Medical Operations Squadron of the United States Air Force at Keesler Medical Center in Mississippi. He was the recipient of the Health Professional Scholarship from the U.S. Air Force and graduated with distinction in the Honor Squadron. As part of his deployment to Southwest Asia, he provided medical management and was the intensivist chief for 379th Expeditionary Medical Group, caring for service members in critical condition. Upon returning, he was the assistant program director of the internal medicine residency program at Keesler Medical Center.
Dr. Moghbelli is board certified in cardiovascular disease and has authored numerous publications on topics related to heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiovascular management of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. He is a member of nationally distinguished organizations including the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and American Thoracic Society.
